So I have a 55G Cichlid tank that's been going for about a year now, and decided to try my hand at SW...

    60G
52 Lbs or so of Cured Live Rock
    Aragonite Sand
    Emperor 400 Filter
    2 Bulb T5 HO lighting
    1 Koralia Nano, 425GPH
    1 Koralia Evolution, 1050GPH

Thinking about getting a HOB Protein Skimmer in the future. (If I need to, I'm waiting to see It's necessary)

    Live stock:
2 Clownfish (Not sure if they're Percula or Ocelaris)
    1 Pink-Spotted Gobby
1 Fox-Face Rabbitfish (Hopefully not too big for tank)

    1 Leather Finger Coral
    1 Brown Polyps

2 Snails (1 that I can't find for the life of me, and one that is constantly moving and climbing around)
    12 Red-Legged Hermits

The Fox and Goby seem to be best of friends already.
The 2 Clowns seem to only like being up at the very top, and hardly ever come down from the top corners.

    - Is there too much flow for them? They're pretty small, but I assume they're good with it. Just like being up at the top?

I'm deciding what to do with the background still. It will probably be a pain to get back there now to paint it, so I was thinking maybe some non-glossy black poster board or something.

It's normal for clownfish to stay in one spot for their whole life.

One other thing I forgot. I still have a lot of debris from when I initially put the LR in.
Other than appearance-wise, is there a reason to clean or leave it be?
    I can do either...

    Really.
I mean they swim around the middle to get to one side to the other, but they love hanging up almost against the glass.
And they sleep at very top too, on their sides, up against the glass tops.

    Weirdos...
So I guess I have my upper level fishes covered.

My clown do the same thing. The first night after I bought them, they slept beside each other on the sand up against the glass. Now they float on thier sides at the top. How long has this tank been set up for?

    It's been set-up for about 3 weeks.
I used water from a store's frag/coral tank, with the cured live rock.

So I assume it's good to go.
I actually added the Fox-Face today

    These are my numbers:
    Ammonia - Not COMPLETELY yellow. I'd say it's like a .05/.1, but it's pretty close to 0
(I've never been able to get my Freshwater to zero either, as water here has like a 1ppm right from the tap)
    Nitrite - 0
    Nitrate - 15
    PH - 8.4ish
    KH - 10
    Calcium - 520 or so
    Salinity - 1.024

I'm sorry to tell you this, but you are moving too fast. You should only have added the clown until your nitrates where at 0. You have to make sure you tank has cycled. You should only add one or two fish and wait at least 2 weeks, make sure all of your levels are down, then add another fish. I think it's way to early to have corals. I'm not trying to put what you've done down. Just don't add anything else until your nitrates are at 0, so you don't get new tank syndrome and it crashes. If you are using RO/DI water when you do your weekly water change, then it won't take long. DO NOT USE TAP WATER. Your tank does look good though, just take it slow. This is all my personal opinion.

Yea, "ish, or so" is not want you want. You need the exact measurments to tell what you need in and out. Almost a third of your tank is filled and its only the third week. Go slow, let it grow!

That all sounds right, I did rush a tad.
As far as weekly water changes go, what percentage would you go with?

I just figured that since the tank was moving the ammonia the clowns were producing into Nitrate that I could add another fish, and I ended up getting 2.
I know the Clowns really weren't providing a ton
