i'm wanting to try my hand at some sps corals. what would be a good starter coral that grows fairly fast so i will see results and gain confindence that i am on the right path?
i like the green birdsnest, but don't know if it's a fast grower or not.
    any suggestions?

Monti is excellent. Green birdsnest has been very easy and fast growing IMHO as well.

not sure I will look into it I will send you a orange cap, green cap, orange digita, and also a piece of tryee purple rim cap.

all frags of each I will have my buddy ship them for me as he likes to ship stuff all over the states. All I want is actual shipping cost and for you to succeed and get more stuff. ppl helped me when i started so it is time to return the favor.

but what I need to know is what lights are you running? to make sure these will even work with your setup

First thing that popped in my head before I even opened up this thread was a birdsnest. But I would try out some montipora.... Like LVsuckerfish said either capricornis or digitata. You may enjoy the digitata species best (Ultra Fast Grower)

+1 on the Monti Cap. seriously, i think you can actually see mine growing. most people i have talked to say that red grows faster than green, if thats worth anything to you...

depends on the tank. My green monti outpaces my red by a longshot. I would say you should also look for someone who has some green slimer. It's an extremely fast growing acro that I would consider fairly easy to keep. Pink Birdsnest is also a safe bet.
