Picked up my first SPS coral.

My tank is 2 years old and is rock stable. Water params are good, calc 450, alk aorund 9, mag 1300, 0 NO3. It's rather overgrown with softies.

So I decided to try an SPS coral. Picked up a small frag of montipora. Btw, can anyone tell what kind of monitpora this is?

What I am not sure about is flow and lighting amount. I am worried my LEDS will bleach it, so i turned them downt to like 25% for now.

From the pics, can you tell if this monitpora is doing ok? Polyps seem happy, but i see a bit of bleaching around edges and on ridge tips. To be honest it was like that when I got it, and it's a bit hard to tell if bleached parts are spreading.

    Thanks.

I'm just getting my first few SPS as well, so my opinion isn't the best on this. However, I don't see any bleaching. That is usually a very white skeleton with no tissue on it. With SPS, light colored areas that are grey or creamy in color are a sign of new growth.

The polyps are extended, which I would say is a good sign. :)

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Perhaps Montipora capricornis.

Judging from the images it looks to be healthy.
