First test results

    Thanks for your advice.
    I have added the buffer and will wait a couple of days before testing my pH again.
    I will also start turning the lights on.
    How long should I run my lights? I have 4 T5 buls, 2 14ks and 2 blue acintics.

    Hi Meagan
    if you have not run lights at all for the 1st 5 weeks (some people just run actinics whilst the tank is cycling)

    as you have nothing in the tank as yet that requires lighting (no corals) then a gradual build up would be good IMO

    in my tank now, I have the daylight tubes on for 10 hours, with the actinics coming on 1 hour before and going off 1 hour after the daylights - so 12 hours for actinics and 10 hours for the daylights

    but it may be a good idea to gradually build up the time period until you reach that duration
