I'd say the 34G tank won't help. But I've seen the best way without copper, is to hypo the tank, provided you don't have corals or inverts. If you do, then get a QT setup.

Buy a tank you could pick up a 20 gallon long on craigslist or Walmart. Get a heater, small powerhead. Air pump and sponge filter. Not too much water movement. Us a copper based medicine like cuprimine. Follow dosing regime. And move your fish over. Lighting isn't too important so something small. Feed garlic soaked foods while in qt tank for 16 weeks to be safe.

To do the hypo on the dt tank could end badly if done too fast. This can shock your system. And can hurt sensitive inverts and corals. I would only do this with a lot of experience and a fish only system.

Qt tank is safe and easy way to remove ich from your system.
