Today was the first time I used my RO/DI system and after reading the intruction booklet, it seemed very easy to break it. Is there anything I should've done before using it or is there anything I should do now?

Some people say you should adjust the reject flow restrictor so that you get a 1:4 ratio but I didn't adjust anything, i don't even know my ratio (i plumbed up the drain line and didn't bother checking)

Not all flow restrictors are adjustable.

LOL.....spring is on it's way. They don't produce so well when the water is this cold. You'll see a big improvement.

That model has a flow restrictor and they require you to adjust it for the warranty. They tell you to measure the permeate (RO Water) and the Concentrate (reject water) and if it is less than 1:4 to take off the flow restrictor and follow the waste to product ratio guide on how long to cut the flow restrictor [according to their manual]

you can get an inline TDS meter to keep up with your progress... I like the ones that have a TDS count on the In and Out. got mine for less than $30. My TDS reads 0 out and 36 in, so I am pleased! Of course you should have a while before anything needs changing, but I definitely recommend one to keep an eye on things, and for peace of mind. ;)

The ProPlus comes with a capillary tube flow restrictor which you need to trim according to the included instructions that came with the RO/DI. It also comes standard with the dual inline TDS meter. For most people it should give you 3-4 gallons per hour of RO/DI with normal water pressure and temperatures.
