I added my first frags to my tank yesterday, (YAY!!!!) But my fish, especially my Yellow Tang are acting very skittish (SP?). Yellow Tang is tail swatting at the zoo frag--all the others seem very on alert--any experience with this???

Guessing, cause its something new to look at. I switched the angle my duncans were sitting at last night more towards the light and my clown that was hosting got pretty upset and she kept knocking it over for 2 hrs. Finally I got it in right where she cant tip it. I am wondering if she was mad or just making sure I put it up correct so it wouldnt get knocked over when I'm not around. But we compromised. Fish are wierd, thats what I'm saying.

I have a maroon clown that I had for a while then I added my first leather coral and he kept coming up inbehind it had knocking it of the rocks.. Did this for a while and I kept adding corals and he become used to them and stopped now he doesn't care about them. I wouldn't worry about it unless he is damaging them.

As long as its normal and not causing damage I wont worry then--I also added a sixline that is hiding--was thinking this may be causing the behavior also.

I would think the addition of the sixline is causing the behavior

I also have to agree with BaxterS80. I dont think a tang would react like that towards a coral. My foxface did that when I added my school of chromis and school of bangaii cardinals. Now the the schooling fish just swim with the foxface, sometimes. Unless they are being fed, the foxface just knocks everyone away.

Well it is the coral he does not like--I just fed and the sixline came out to grab a bite before the damsel saw him, and he and the Yellow Tang sat side by side like they had been born together. He still is tail slapping at the stupid little zoo frag--Or shall i say stupid Tang!!! "ITS JUST A CORAL!!!!!!"

Is there another location in a different area of the tank you could put the frag? Maybe the tang just doesn't like it on his turf? :)
