Just out of curiosity is it normal for your fish to pretty much stay in the same area. By this I mean the two clowns and two chromis in my tank pretty much stay in the same bottom corner. The female wanders off some times then comes right back. Just wondering if its normal or if not what could be the issue.

How long have they been in the tank, and what other livestock do you have? It's fairly normal for smaller reef fish to find a retreat and hang out there for a while when first introduced into a new environment. Usually the only reason they would stay there is if they feel threatened.

Well those four are the only fish in there and they were just added to this tank like week and a half ago but the exhibited the same behavior in the other tank.

Hmmm... Clowns don't normally move about much except at feeding time (lol), but my Chromis swam around the tank like any other Damsel. Did take a month or more for him to adjust to his new home, though.

I mean they all occasionally move around but 75+% the male an 2 chromis are in the bottom corner. Female is another 50%.

My Chromis and Clowns stay hidden when its dark. Once the light comes on they start swimming all around. What age did you purchase your clowns at?

I have had the clown for little over 2 years and I inherited them from a friend and they were his first fish so they are at least 4 yrs old. At night the clowns stay in the same area and the chromis hide behind the rocks some where
