Every year starting late July to early August I go collecting my own tropicals in Rhode Island. This year I only went once and just got some butterflies and assorted damsels.

However I have seen all sorts of stuff. The day I went lots said they were seeing lionfish but I didn't see one. I have seen/caught, triggers, file fish, big eyes, butterflies, tangs, boxfish, groupers, hamlets, damsels...all kinds, pipefish, and I am sure there are more that escape me now.

It makes for a fun but trying day stalking thumbnail sized fish with two nets and a huge shadow.

During the summer time, we have managed to catch scooter blennys runing around the rocks with a ziplock bag. They dont see the bag, and swim right into it!!

I'm in, it's just crossing the border with a car full of fish that might be a problem.

LMFAO@gitty little school girls!!!!!! I would go just to video tape it! A buddy of mine has a deep sea video cam he uses for reef fishing, kinda cheating for fishing cause he drops his line right in front of the fish, lol.

I would be the first to dive in. those are really nice fish ! That reminds me of an phenomenon that occurs in the little town of Fairhope Alabama- about once a year millions of fish will swim out and beach themselves literally covering the sand - the locals call it "jubilee" I just call it the most amazing thing I've ever seen.
