    oh my god!
those are incredible. they look amasing!

could any of those go with a maroon clown???
    incognito your awesome!
would you recommend getting them all when their small???
    ((((they're all venomous too right?))))))

are all of those reef friendly?
    thanks so much
how and what do you feed them?

I think i'm going to switch from the 30 to a 38 gallon which measures 36x12x20. this is more fair to the lion and allows me to keep 1-2 more fish.

INCOGNITO>>>i also live in california and im wondering if i could pm you about possibly buying fish from you. if not , where do you get these scorpionfish and waspfish ? I love your 60 tank and your fish are beautiful. i think i would get a:
    1.)red-fin wasp fish, 2.)cockatoo waspfish, 3.)fuzzy lionfish, 4.)maroon clownfish,
5.)and either a cheekspot scorpion, Leaf scorpion, or an ambon scorpionfish.

the leaf scorpion looks like it has a huge mouth and could possibly eat the maroon even if its big. what do you think??? the others seem like they have relatively small mouths.
    thanks!

Hi ya! I answered the PM, but I think I see a few different questions.

None of them will eat the maroon. The bigger mouths of the bunch are the fuzzy and the cheekspot. The only thing they will eat in your reef are shrimp and crabs (not hermits). They will not touch your corals. I did have a volitans who loved to sit on a beautiful green bubble I had, I moved it and he would move. That's the only one I had that did that.

I feed them from my DIY stealth stick. I have a little feeding guide I'll stick in here that should make it easier for ya, but I'm on an iPad, so I'll have to add them later. I feed them whatever is on sale at the market. Ahi, salmon, cod, haddock, scallops, shrimp lobster.... now I'm hungry. If you go to a pier to buy seafood, freeze it first. Freezing doesn't kill all parasites, but it will help with some.

I won't be selling fish for a couple of months yet and you've come to the hardest part, finding them. Living in California, you are in a better position than most. A lot of shops don't even know what they are... or that they are venomous. I've found some of the neatest ones nestled in the corner of a display tank. It's really hit or miss. Diver's Den has always been good to me. Don't get anything unless you can ID it. You may bring home the next giant they could eat your whole family.

Smaller fish can be a little more fragile, but they can also be easier to wean. Just don't go baby small.

Yes, they are all venomous. The redfin and the cockatoo are waspfish, so they are even more potent.

I'm South Bay, where are you?

im in the malibu agoura hills area so your reasonably close! that fantastic to hear, that they are compatable with the maroon and im really stoked that they are venomous. it gives me a whole new level of respect for them. have you been jabbed by the dorsal fin before?

the cockatoos are my favorite and the leaves are up there too. actually all of them seem pretty great! you have converted me over to scorp/wasp/lion-keeping.
how did you do that???? lol :)
    thanks for all your help

Im switching the 30 to a 38 which measures 36x12x20 so more room for the inhabitants!

    >>>?how much do they usually run in local fish stores?
    >>>would it be okay if i kept1.)red-fin wasp fish, 2.)cockatoo waspfish, 3.)fuzzy lionfish, 4.)maroon clownfish, 5.) cheekspot scorpion 6.) Leaf scorpion? or is that too many for a 38 gallon

Orange County has a lot of stores close-ish together.

I've never been stung and I hope it stays that way!

I honestly think that will be a little tight. Your going to be challenged with aquascaping in a 12" wide tank as it is. Just go nice and slow and your tank will tell ya when it's full.

I've paid as little as 12 bucks for some of these (cockatoo, fuzzy, leaf) 60-70s on Diver's Den for a lot..... more for others.

Try getting a tank with more surface area.
