well in short a this happened a while ago (2 weeks) but i havent had time to post what legitimately heppened. i had a prizm skimmer (GGGRRR WASTE OF MONEY!) that started leaking, my tank is on carpet so i had no idea until a long time after it started. but that time, my tank had turned into a brackish water tank and my fish were dieing one by one. the blue damsel even died.

ugh. corals didnt like this either! finger leather, kenya tree, montipora, and frogspawn all gone.

im not depressed or really that bummed either. $#!t happens, life goes on. ill be restoking shortly when i get the money with two mantis shrimp and the tank divided. still will be keeping corals. i switched lighting to T-8s (i know but it was necessary) and all my corals are fine and my monti has actually started coming back! the MH is on the 55 gallon because i didnt wat the ballast to get wet, and i just havent switched back.

welp theres my rant for the day.

Ranting is always allowed. I take it the protein skimmer was a stand alone or HOB. Ever think of an overflow box and sump set up?

Well that freaking sucks. Sorry to hear it. I had a system go down one time with all my old fish in it.... it was very sad. :-(

Thats alright! I think everyone should expect something to die one of these days. I think everyone is so into this because it is a challenging but fun, like experiment. You go from a $1 button polyp to a $500 ricordia in a matter of months. Well it least you lost the button polyp this time and not the ricordia. :)
