My mom and I need some help (more like 2nd, 3rd, etc opinions) on what fish to place in our missing piece of the puzzle. I'm going to cut straight to the chase here:

Our system - 46 gallon bowfront with eventually 50+ (gonna add more soon, hence the +) lbs of LR, 15g sump with Berlin X2 skimmer (rated for 100+ gallons), 2 inch sand bed, and CUC with hermits, snails, and serpent starfish.

    CURRENT Inhabitants
    -2 Ocellaris Clowns
    -1 six line wrasse
-1 Skunk cleaner shrimp (I guess part of the CUC)
    -1 Tiger Pistol Shrimp

FUTURE Inhabitants (in order of potential purchase)
    -Yellow Watchman goby
    -Missing piece of the puzzle
    -Coral Beauty Dwarf Angel

I know we're stocking this thing pretty full, but the sump, overkill skimmer, and LR and CUC we believe will be plenty to handle it. The tank is going to be a FOWLR with softies. There are multiple people (including 3reefers) and our LFS owner who thinks we aren't overstocking at all, so I don't really want flak on that, unless it's really urgent (which I doubt).

We are trying to decide on what fish to put in the "Blank" spot there, for a total of 6 fish in a 46 bowfront.

    Your options are:
    -Royal Gramma
    -Flavivertex Pseudochromis/Sunrise Pseudochromis/Sunrise Dottyback
    -Firefish

Have at it! :D I tried to include as much as anyone would want to know about the setup in the post...let me know if I missed anything.

As usual, any and all comments are appreciated. Thanks a million.

I always liked my fire gobies and my Marine Betta. Both shy but added alot to my tank. Everyone always thought the Marine Betta was very cool.

Also I was doing some reading and ran across The Rainford's Goby which is good for cleaning mircoalgae from your rocks, glass and even off snails( it was in my marine fish and reef magazine my wife got me for Christmas). Also mentioned was the Pygmy angelfish which are good for cleaning diatoms, algae end feces of other fish.

As far as the Royal Grama I recently read that they can be territorial. Since you would be adding them at this point it may not be as big of a problem.

I would say fire fish, but I am quite partial because thats going to be the next fish I add to my tank.

Anthias are cool fish - you can find some very, very colorful ones. Otherwise, I'd go with a firefish.

I say blenny. There is nothing that I have kept that comes close to the personality of my eyelash blenny

I agree! My lawnmower blenny provides the most entertainment in my tank. He's got a lot of personality, and it's hilarious to watch him peek in and out of rocks, hop around the tank, and sometimes even comes up to the glass to watch you when you get close by. He's also been sleeping in my zoas for over a month now, which is funny to watch. Lights out, he hops right in.

oh man, you have no idea how much I want a mandarin. But, because I want one so bad, I want him to have the best home possible. meaning, not this tank, not yet. The tank is about 4 weeks old now (2 week mini cycle, heck yeah) and will be about 1.5 months old when we get the Yellow Watchman. Then 1.75-2 months for mystery fish. Maybe 3 months for coral beauty just to make sure it's good for it. That'll be the show piece.

I'm not liking the royal gramma too much...so many more options. I really like lawnmower blennies. Or blennies in general. My friend has a molly miller blenny, and that thing is a pain in the butt, but it's so cute, it's hard to get mad at. It enjoys spending time in the overflow box, trying to sleep in the clam, etc. He had to move it to his Q tank because it was nipping at his clam, and now all it does is sit there and watch the main tank like a puppy in a store. Poor guy.

I still like the look of the Sunrise Dottyback. My mom likes the firefish, I'm still "not sure" on them. And of course a blenny.

    New list:
    -firefish
    -sunrise dottyback
-blenny (lawnmower? what about scooter blennies? that's almost a mandarin...)

I see you're not liking Royal Gramma. That's fine.

But I really like mine. It took it a few weeks to stand up to the Clowns for feeding time. I love its personality and how it watches me.

I also like how it lays down in a hole. I think it's really neat. I have little experience with the variety of fish out there, but I do like my Gramma. I call it Vik. (pronounced Vick)

It's fun watching it hunt pods too. I'd recommend it.
