fish died

    Yep i would say thats about right. What could have caused this and how long should i wait about. also is their anything that I can do the cure or help speed the process?

    It came in with your clownfish and then spread to your tang. It is HIGHLY contagious. This is much more dangerous than ich. This is the reason people use QT tanks on new fish purchases. If you don't leave the tank fishless for the whole life-cycle of the Amyloodinium, every fish you buy has a good chance of dieing.

    That makes me want to put some in even though i don't have it! haha HIGHLY contagious you say? i have never had marine ich or any disease in my 3 year process. i got lucky! or i am just a good reefer?

    U should wait a month or more for the velvet to die out since it needs a host. I did the same for marine ick and after a while I was adding fish again

    She is on the money i just went through a similar experience and lost a tomato clown if Marine Ich it is in your tank it can take up to 60 days to clear.....

    I agree with Coraline, it doesn't sound like Ich and Inwall seems to be right on as usual.

    i completely agree with inwall i had velvet its nasty. To be safe i would say about 3 months or more to be safe. Also like inwall said this is why i have now setup a QT tank so i can treat fish before they go into my DT.
