Does anyone know if it is dangerous for fish to eat aiptasia anemones? I just added a baby stars and stripes puffer to my tank tonight and the first thing he did was swim up and eat one of the aiptasia's on my LR :cheesy: Just wondering if this is a bad thing or not, I'd hate for the poor little guy to get sick or die from this.

It should be fine, and may I say you are the luckiest reefer ever. As far as I knew some butterflys were the only ones who would eat those little buggers.

;D Definitely wasn't expecting him/her to do it, guess it could be a good thing as long as it doesn't hurt the fish.

If it will eat it, that is good.

Copper banded B flys are regarded as the only reef safe fish that will eat aiptasia, but many other butterflys will as well.

lol. My spotted puffer did the same thing. I went to show my wife what they look like, and they were all gone. Good fishy.

Watch the puffer around any coral you may have. They love to much on hard corals and spit them out!
