I have had a coral beauty and a flame angel in my tank since Friday. Saturday I feed them a about 1/8 cube of spirulina and they ate all of it. Today I gave them another 1/8 and they really didn't seem interested, they just kept pecking away at the glass and rocks as it floated around. My biggest concern is making sure the fish are getting enough food. I also don't want to have uneaten food sitting on the bottom. So my question are:

Should I be trying to feed them if they are pecking algae off the glass and rocks?

Instead of feeding every other day should I stretch it to every 3 days or longer?

    Thanks...Jeff

The Coral Beauty's and Flame Angels are omnivores in the wild and there diet mainly consists of algae and crustaceans. In the aquarium if they have a mature tank with beneficial algae growing they will happily eat this. I say if you want to see if they are interested in the spirulina just put a little in, they'll be able to smell it and if they're interested they'll perk up and start looking for the food. If not they must be happy with the food thats already in the tank. When I use to have a flame angel he was never very interested in the brine shrimp that I would feed my fish, he would instead ignore the food and keep looking for algae on the rocks. As long as they are eating and are active I wouldn't worry about it much.
