What are you guys using for fish feeders? Looking for something to use when we go on vacation from time to time. What are you using and how long does it last? We currently have some CHEAP walmart ones, and they are in NO WAY getting the job done, time to upgrade!

I use a man from an LFS.
Does a jolly good job of feeding and cleaning.

You have any friends? My friend Meekel that is on here baby sits mine & I look after his.. It does help having someone that does know about this hobby, but people can be trained.. :)

You can also use autofeeders as well. I have a Bengal cat as well, so that's the other reason, but my system is pretty much self maintaining..

Yea, I have a 240 gal tank that will be fine by itself for a week or so, as long as the fish get food. Glass might be a bit dirty when I get back, but thats no worry, has an ATO and all as well. Just need to fee the fish. How much food does the Eheim put out at a time?

I has a large hopper and can be set to drop 2 doses in one serving. You can control how much with a sliding trap door also. I would think you could feed more than enough each time.

Frankly, all fish feeders, except human ones, suck. If you need one for a week's vacation, just leave and don't feed. Everything will do fine. Longer than a week, find a sitter. Leave SPECIFIC instructions. And keep in mind they WILL over feed.

If you're breeding and need to feed 3-4 times daily while on vacation, rethink being a breeder. :)
