These two shouldn't be added together. Often times the similar body type sparks confrontation with the two tangs. You need to take one of them back to the store. Check on fish compatibility before you buy.

The only times this pairing might work is in a huge tank with lots of live rock and only if the two are the same size and added at the same time. Good luck.

The guy at the LFS? Pardon me if I'm skeptical about anything they say;). I've found the majority of LFS to be out for the sale.

Let me put it to you this way. If one of my friends asked me "I have a sailfin tang in a 110, can I put a smaller yellow tang with it?" I would most definitely tell them to not even try it.

Since the fish is already in there have you tried moving the rock work around at all? Hopefully that would make the sailfin need to establish a new territory instead of bullying the yellow guy. No promises, but at this point it's probably worth a shot.

2 tangs in a tank are always a crapshoot. Best bet is two with different body shapes. I had a hippo and a yellow for a long time (6 years) until the yellow played Russian roulette with the hydor powerhead one too many times and I found him stuck to it one day.

Yes it does that sometimes;). That's why I can't stand it when some one starts off with "Well I was able to keep..." when many other people have had bad experiences with the same situation. Just because one person has good luck with something that is not recommended (ex: keeping two similar body shapes in one tank) doesn't mean they should recommend that someone else try it. Good luck with your two fighters. I hope you can get the yellow tang out of there easily and without too much stress to either you or the fish.:)

manderin11's advice is spot on :) i would never risk two tangs together that are different sizes, maybe in a HUGE tank, but 110 i think might be pushing it, i also think that all fish have different peronalities, some get along well with others, and some dont, like humans ;D
