Ok. Im trying to compile a list of things I can buy at the grocery store to feed my fish. Food for carnivore, herbivore and omnivore fish as I have all three in my tank. Obviously has to be things that will not harm the fish, are beneficial and can be part of a regular diet for the fish, not things I could throw in once a month as a "treat."

Are these things safe to purchase?
    Romain Lettuce?

(Broccoli Peas Carrots) Can I buy the frozen kind? canned? or has to be fresh?

(Shrimp, scallops, clams, ect) Has to be raw correct? nothing already cooked? For shrimp, shell on or off?

Please add anything you can think of that is beneficial.
    Thanks

Do you have an asian market near you? I buy nori sheets from there as well as fish roe.

No market close enough to make a trip. I'm talking about picking up things at a chain store. Publix, Walgreens, Walmart, ect.

I would only get fresh or frozen vegetables and organic if at all possible. Canned are usually processed with additional chemicals added. Raw seafood is the way to go also.

You definitely want organic veggies. Commercially grown non-organic produce is usually treated with pesticides and who knows what else during the growing season.

You can buy shrimp with the shell if you don't mind peeling them yourself. :D

Publix has some good Nori. My friend also gets the gumbo(XS) size shrimp for his puffer and eel.

    What's the stock list?

Can I throw shell and all in for something like a trigger or should I still peel it?

Actually, I have read that it's good for triggers (and puffers) to be fed shrimp with the shell to help keep their beak trimmed. Didn't realize you had a trigger. :)

It was my first fish I ever purchased before I knew anything about saltwater aquariums. I probably wouldn't have bought him knowing what I know now. But he is my favorite fish with the best personality and I cannot let him go.
