    What type of fish food is used during cycling to speed it up? Will freshwater fish flakes work?? How much should i throw in my 30 gallon tank?

    fish food, a few pinches a day should be fine!

    And yes, any type will work, as they all will deteriorate and create DOCs leading to ammonia to kick-start the cycle.
