I would alternate with frozen and pellets/flake. In my experience quality frozen vs quality pellet/flake frozen increased growth rate. I use mysis and rods food and alternate between new life spectrum pellets.....great fish foods

this is also very true! some fish need special care when feeding...like tangs. they do need their greens. very important indeed!!!

ok so i came home with some new life spectrum marine formula(pellets). i was looking at some o.s.i.flake, but then i seen the ingredients on the new life and was amazed. looked like they took home recipe off the internet and sold it.(ither way has lots of good stuff in.)

came home threw a small pinch in (fish not fed all day) every one ate some except the 2 dragonets(expected), and the coral goby,he did take a bite but even the 1mm pellet was too big for him to eat it,
(a juvi coral goby is a damn small fish lol)proly still spot feed him meaty foods till he gets a lil bigger,
but all seems good so far hopefully ill be on my way to algae free.

Good point! I just steer clear of those guys, never thought that the ick issue may be a result of an immune deficiency.

I took the advise of a fellow reefer here and dissolved the frozen cube in a shot glass with a little tank water--then let the food settle. Take a paper towel and dab it into the water and soak up the top not the food. My algea backed off and is all but gone. I dont know if this was the fix or the algae just ran its coarse. I feed 1/3 cube of green (Hebivore) with 1/3 cube of brine or mysis--all soaked in zoe. Daily

I agree try some Rod's Food. Rinsed and hand chopped in RO water. It has food for everything in your tank. Shrimp, squid, oster eggs, etc. They have it at Reef Creation for $10. Coral and fish love it.
