I think oxygen would be depleted very fast in a 2gal tank if you had a damsel in there. It would be difficult to keep the fish alive, you would need serious aeration, possibly some way to cool the water so it can hold more oxygen chiller. After that you would have to do water changes all the time to keep nitrates down. Think about all the work, is it really worth all that just to keep a fish alive?

I would try a clown goby if anything and if you have success keeping it around for a while trade it for one of these guys Saltwater Aquarium Fish for Marine Aquariums: Red Spotted Goby

I suggest the clown goby first because its cheap.

EDIT: nevermind I see you picked a fish.

i think the only goby you can really put in there is a clown goby. IMO.
check Live aquaria for reference on minimum tank size. they have it right for the most part.

Jeez man. You're definitely going to need serious aeration to keep a fish plus a few crabs.

you know... you could always buy a bigger tank rather than trying to squeeze as much live stock into a small container... im not talking a monster tank but you could get a 46g, or a 55g. 29g... just my two cents.

i know it does say 10g.. thats why i said it would be pushing it with a clown goby.
