I lost the basslet cause he eat cleaner shrimp and got it stuck in his mouth so they both died

My tanks not overstocked anymore it just vary well stocked at 1 fish per 5g

The question is can i have that fish in a 2g.

1 fish per 5g is old. 12" blue tang in a 31? that's asking for something to die. You can keep a goby in a 2g. But I wouldn't do it.

do not put a mandarin in a 2gal tank or a 31 gallon there will not be enough food for them since there main stay is pods. That would be a cruel death to such a beautiful fish. I wouldn't put a fish except for maybe a clown or watchman goby in a 2 gal and thats even pushing it. Just make it a zoa or mushroom garden without fish. I agree above take the tangs out of the 31 gal. They grow much larger and it is wrong for them in there. I just had to sell my sailfin back out of my 55gal cause he was getting too big and will not be putting in another tang till i get a bigger tank.

Dude that rule doesn't apply anymore.
Tangs no matter what size they are require a minimum of 75G. ( some require 100g+)

The mandarin would not survive in your 2g for long.
If he is eating frozen, you may have a chance in your 31G BUT... there is no way it would be ok on your current tank conditions.
You are WAY overstocked. 2 tangs is beyond pushing it.

Not to be rude, but if you are not willing to take care of fish the way your supposed to then maybe this isn't the hobby for you.

Not only is your 31 way overstocked, your water params can't be in check with all the food and waste produced, theres no way.Your heading for a big crash.People have been trying to tell you this throughout this thread, and without trying to sound rude, you have completly ignored any advise given. Not trying to sound mean, but don't you want a happy and healthy reef?

tank raised is also still wild caught, just as a youngster, meaning they have had it for a while. It was not born/bred in their tanks. The green mandarin goby will also grow to be 4"...

Your tank is already overstocked(even w/o the chalk bass & shrimp(sorry for your loss)). Do you still have the tangs?
