I disagree, with a proper fuge it can be done,a few people on NR have some nice smaller tanks with mandys.

I had a scooter blenny in my nuvo for a year. He just recently passed. If you see them eat frozen at the lfs you should be good to go. My tank is only 30 gallons.

I have a 6 line also, he is actually the shy eater. Him and the blenny did great together ime. Hope this helps, I guess it all depends every fish will act differently.

I have a six line in my tank. Man they get a bad wrap but mine is cool as a cucumber! I also had the luxury of watching him interact with other fish in his old tank where I bought him from. On the POD note, how does one know if the population is high or not? I've loaded two bags of POD's into my 75 over the past month or so and how do I know if that is enough?

I feel this should be a disclaimer sold with ORA mandarins and dragonettes that have been trained to eat frozen, I can't tell you how many people I see saying "My mandarin is ORA and takes frozen so I can put him in a (insert ridiculously small tank size here.)"

The fact that they eat frozen foods doesn't mean they don't want/need pods. Frozen foods are just a supplement to the pods. Dragonettes' metabolism has evolved to suit its natural eating habits: continuous feeding on pods. Putting one (scooter blenny, red scooter blenny, red/green/blue mandarin, psychedelic mandarin etc) in a small tank because it takes frozen is going to lead to it's starvation. The fish will decimate the pod population in a day or two, then eventually starve. Their metabolism can't handle one large (or even three smaller) feedings a day. You're basically asking a fish to change thousands of years of evolution.

1.0 reef, I don't think you should be saying that it can be done, unless you also say how it is done. I'm sure these are the people that spend 40$ on pods a week, in order to keep populations up.

IMO, unless you can afford to keep buying pods every week (no idea how much this would cost in Israel) skip the mandarin for this tank.
