Fish from pet co

I wouldn't buy any fish from my local Petco, not even goldfish. Most of the fish look diseased, there are always dead ones in the tanks, etc.

However, I know a couple people on here who buy fish from Petco, where the tanks are well maintained and the fish are healthy.

So, my opinion is that it varies by location. Make the best choice for you! I've been to some specialty fish stores around here that look worse than my petco - so ya know.

 

Nice to know that this isn't just my local PetCo. And this is not an exaggeration! There is always a section of tanks like this. And I go there often for dog stuff.

 

My petco doesn't even have saltwater fish anymore. They used to, the only thing I buy is fish food and some other things.
Stop buying saltwater fish from PETCO

 

Well I called pet co, they sold one of the true percs. So I'm probably gonna buy 2 false percs from one of my lfs. Thanks for the good imput, didn't realize pet co was so taboo.

 

I pretty much gave everyone a VERY STRONG HINT as to why Petco threads get closed. Maybe I was more subtle than I thought. This thread is closed because of this.

It's also being closed because I'm going to be dealing with a new CUC from John at ReefCleaners shortly and I don't have time to babysit the thread anymore. Does the health of this shipment matter more to me than allowing people to say the same thing that's been said a million other times on this subject?
