So one of my fish somehow managed to get itself into one of the overflows of my AGA 125 megaflow tank. Anybody ever run into this problem? Any ideas on how to get it out?

If you have a small net put it in there. Wait til it is at the surface then bring the net up from underneath

I have a Neon Gobbie living in the overflow of my 120...been there since the day I put him in the tank...that little sucker has no desire to be caught...just hides "behind" the tubes when I have gone after him with the net...been there going on 4 months now...

Thanks for the suggestions I'll get at it later. Looks like I might need some patience for this one.

my stupid clownfish does this on a bi-weekly basis. I usually find him in the sump. I seriously think he is a punk.

    Here's what I'd do:

1)shut off pump to the system. This will cause the water to stop flowing.
2)unscrew bottom of bulkhead plumbing into the sump (or enough where the water would only drain through one pipe into sump).
3)unscrew the standpipe from the bulkhead, water will start to rapidly drain into the sump via bulkhead.
4)place your waiting net under the pipe where the water is now draining into the sump, the fish will fall right into there.
    5)place back in tank.

You'll probably have to plug the bottom and mid openings in your overflow weir with plastic bags or something too.

This is also assuming the fish is small enough to fit through your bulkhead.

My Yellow Watchman Goby lived in the overflow for three years before I finally put him in a different tank. Every time I got him out hew went right back within a day or two since the Sixline Wrasse was harassing him.
About two months ago I drained my overflow by removing the standpipe and return and pulled out a Yellow Wrasse, Sixline Wrasse and a Foxface Rabbitfish that had all been in there for a couple months. The Sixline is already back in the overflow box. I even covered it with eggcrate but I think they pass through the finger slots cut in the side.

They seem willing enough to enter the overflow and live there...but not willing to leave...at least on their own...

Since I can see into my overflow when I'm working behind the tank, I kind of enjoy watching him then...

I had a clown do that few days ego. I turned off the pump and syphoned the water out of the overflow and only left an inch. I did NOT unscew the pipes. Then I stock my hand in there and pulled him out. (took 5 mins to actually get him)
