    You will likely always have the slight chance of a fish getting ich (especially tangs). Some fish are just more susceptible to it than others. While I have never had a tang, the Kole tang is one of the less susceptible. Powder blue/brown tangs, purple, hippo/regal, and yellow tangs are probably the most likely to get it IMO.

    It is caused by stress (in your aquarium or in the store/shipment) and cannot very easily be prevented (that I know of) aside from being careful when adding it to the tank (and making sure you select a fish which is already in good health). One way to be sure your fish doesn't loose apatite is to soak food in garlic. The strong smell/flavor entices them to eat most of the time and continue to battle against such diseases.

    what type of chromis? might i suggest blue reef? very friendly very blue. great personalities
