    no good new this morning.
coral beauty got taken out last night. found him with hermits all over him.
i took it out and used some of the remains to try to bait something else out.
    i only caught more hermits.

i was up late lsat night looking with a red flashlight and i dont see annnnything in that tank. not a trace of something bad. and i already did the bait trick twice with no results.

what other options do i have?
or what else could it be?

I blame clownfish. I've always felt that clowns are the worst hitchhikers you can get, one they are in the tank they will terrorize anything. Mine attacks my female unit when she walks by and bites me if i put my hand in the tank. I'm trying to borrow a lionfish to take care of the problem naturally (Ok there is alot of gesting in that post, but clowns can be stupid mean. I put my money on that pair trashing your fish wether you catch them at it or not)

PS Not actually borrowing a lionfish because I love my ORchid dottyback and he might get caught too

hmmmm u may be right. whenever i put my hand in my tank my clowns also go crazy and bite my hand. ive never seen them harrassing anything but im also not home for a good portion of the day.

it also makes sense now beacuse when i had my 55 set up i tried putting in a yellow tang and it died, and a hippo tang and it died. i thought it was just from the size of the tank and rockwork layout. but if my clowns are doing this it could have been from that.

so im thinking about taking my to clowns back to the lfs and trading them from another mated pair. do you think thats a good idea?
then maybe try a couple chromis just to see if it was the clowns doing the bulling before i add any thing i really want to keep in the tank.

yeah i dont know, have heard true perc's are the nicest of hte bunch. Until you SEE them eating sushi you might want to hold off. My clown killed 2 tangs over a couple months each and murdered my cool mandarin after about a year. Except with the yellow tangs he was never super agressive, but they would fight eahother alot durring feedings. Hes the reason I'm not a fish guy anymore

I guess... sorry to hear about your losses.... must be crabs or the like, cause I have 2 clowns and one chromi and they are actually getting along great.
Watch out for those hitchhikers! That's about the only explanation I have for your problem...
Good luck and hope you will find the reason for this soon!!!
