I have a recommendation; for a mandarin how bout making two cultures in 1 tank? put a glass partition and make 2 cultures by feeding them phyto; if one culture dies u still have the other one :) Also you could try to feed the mandarin other foods after you accustom it to pods, but that doesnt necessarily mean that you should get rid of pods if the mandarin does start eating something else. there beautiful but picky S.O.B.'s XD

Honestly, I don't like the coloration of the yasha or the watchman... nor the gramma either. I just don't like two solid colors. The cardinal is something I could live with.

The only reason I'm so adamant about the Falco is because they have one at the LFS that I've been eying since I started my cycle process. He's really awesome looking and he IS living with inverts at the moment. LFS is a good outfit so it's not like they don't know what they are doing. I've been fairly lucky in terms of keeping risky tank mates together in the past. Maybe I'm setting myself up for disaster but I feel confident. I appreciate all of your input. My next post will likely be showcasing the first fish(s) I add.

I'm currently majoring zoological biology and will hopefully move to marine in the future. Worst case scenario is that I will have a problem that will challenge my abilities... and this is why I love life. :)

cool; i wanna do marine bio too. if the falco is living with inverts then maybe get the inverts in the same tank if you want them because im thinking that he's already acquainted with those inverts yet other inverts might be unfamiliar to it.
