Most likely just stressed, give it some time alone, maybe with lights out for a few hours.

It could be just freaked/stressed out from the situation, just give it some time. Hopefully it will come around again.

I just bought a RG from my LFS. Every single one would lay on the bottom of the tank in the corner. I think it's just what they do when they get nervous and try to hide. The fact that you had to move the rock to get it out may have stressed it and made it nervous to go back into that or another rock. What the heck would you do if someone picked up your house shook it around and then sat it back where it was? LOL.... I'm sure it will be fine.

RGs naturally wander through rocks all the time, they are very good at it. They don't typically get stuck, but often will hand out in a small hole in a rock. Likely, he was just hanging out there and you scared the heck out of him by shaking the rock. He should be ok, but the fish is smarter than you give him credit for. Let him do his thing.
