I was told that it is not good to add a clown trigger or picaso trigger to my 350 with the angels etc in.
As there would be bullying from the existing fishes.
Would it make any difference if I put the Picasso and clown trigger in the tank for a week or 2 before I added the other fish ?

    Other fish

    Emporer angel (turning adult)
    Yellow tang
    Choco tang
    Regal tang
    2 clowns
    1 purple sunrise dott back.

The picaso and clown trigger are about 2 inches big.

I know people recommend adding the most aggressive fish last. As to the compatability of the mixture of fish, I don't feel competent to comment on that..

I don't think I would add the Triggers with the fish you already have, but can be done with caution :D

I've personally seen a Picaso mixed with large Angels, Tangs, and other Triggers before without any problems at all. From what I've read and heard about the Clown Trigger, however, I can't recommend it for any community tank. Also, your Dottyback and possibly the Clowns may become lunch once the Triggers mature, especially the Clown Trigger, which reaches nearly 2 feet in length.

So the belief is that if I add the triggers to the tank 1st as 1.5-2 inch fish and then add the tangs and angels, this would be the better option.

Mr Bill, I have also seen plenty of tanks with the group of fish in it, I just want to make sure the way I add them is the best way for success and minimal stress, it's a new tank, so once cycled I wanted to add them 1 at a time and 2 weeks apart, then add the remaining fish 2 weeks after that.

Will the triggers be ok on their own for this long ?
Should I keep the tank dark when adding new fish for a couple of days ?

    Which fish 1st ?
    Picasso or Clown ?

I understand the clowns grow big, but I have never seen more than a odd fish that grows past 8-10 inches in a home aquarium, to be honest, I would imagine 6 inches would out grow most people's tanks and their fish groups anyway ?

Clowns can get large and aggressive yes. Generally you want your most aggressive added last. The web sites say 2ft, but I have honestly never seen one 2ft in home aquaria. Generally speaking around 8-10" is where you see them get cranky though, but a lot of people keep them just fine.

Aren't Triggers more aggressive than clowns?

^^ yes, this is what I was thinking....I'd add the triggers last (I've heard that clown triggers can be particularly aggressive but no personal experience - they are my favorite fish though - thus my avatar) even though they are small, they should hold their own or at least find a hiding spot and come out slowly....

IME with a picasso, add it last...I kept one for several years, and it didn't tolerate newcomers well at all. As for a clown trigger...they don't play very well with others.
