LOL, I hope he held onto the pole!

I fish at the shore here in CT often. Last year there was a father and son on the jetty with me fishing. Each had a pole, but the son kept propping his up on the rocks. The father kept on top of the son to pay attention to his rod but the kid was more interested in the crabs between the rocks on the jetty.

LOL, then suddenly he got a few taps on the pole. Father yells at kid to get to the poile and set hook, then, zooooom. The pole went FLYING off the jetty right into the water and took off like a bat out of hell! It was hilarious! But I do feel bad for the poor fish dragging that thing behind it. I really wish I coulda seen what it was that was strong enough to rip the pole out of the jetty!
