I have already had ich because i diddnt quarentine my fish, but i let the tank sit for a little over a month and added a fish, then another, then another...(all quarentined)They have all been fine for like 6 months, but all of a sudden my water level went way up and killed 2 of my mandarins. It also sucked in my hawkfish and stary blenny, i got them both out and fixed the problem. But 4 days later my hawkfish is scratching and is pale. And my clownfish is acting really jumpy and is scratching. I cant see anything on them(ich wise) and my parameters seem to be fine, please help. :-/

Sounds like its back. I'd go get some treatment. That's why I keep a bottle around at all times.

lost an entire 30g african cichlid tank and all the live plants to ich, really sucked because that stuff lingers on the substrate, plants, filter, its like getting lice -- you have to wash try to wash everything and your still not sure if you got all the parasite -- i'd invest in a UV sterilizer for my tank if I were you, i dont like them usually because they sterilize your pods and microscopic detritus feeders but it would be something worth having while you're trying to rid your tank of ich, gl -- ich sucks

    Ich just hit my tank
been doing MASSIVE reading and from what iv seen it take no less than 8-10 weeks (2 months and a half) to "starve" ich. your intentions were good just didint do it long enough

damn swisswiss i'm sorry to hear that -- is it in your saltwater tank? ( i have both fresh and salt tanks ) -- In a saltwater tank is it not almost impossible to starve ich because you have all the pods, bristle worms, bristle stars, asternia stars, all that small life that no one buys but just thrives in a good system -- would they all not also be infected in that situation? Making it almost impossible to rid a salt system of ich (without medication)
