So right now my skimmer is off because the outtake tube slipped off for some reason and so i have it off until my dad gets home to help me put it back on. But watching my fish they seem so much happier and active and out in front with the skimmer off.

Could this be because there are no microbubbles in the tank, and that they are happy because there is nothing constantly hitting them?

lol all i know is i like it better also without the bubbles. lol and it's also a lot quieter, but can't do anything about the noise, but i'm tempted to try the sock but don't know if it will fit

I have heard that too. From what I understand the air bubble's can get in there gills.

I would say the filter sock would help you short term, and prob eliminate almost all bubbles. You'll want to figure out another way to reduce those bubbles in the meantime because that sock will eventually become a nitrate nest I would imagine. Have you tried facing the output of the skimmer towards the back of the tank to defuse the bubbles on the glass?

Micro bubbles will irritate fish and corals. All will be happier without.
