So since the "damsel option" is squared away, i gotta ask you all. Do you think i should go through with it or should i have a mix of damsels and a black clown or a regular fish tank with a black clown, royal gramma, 1 green chromis, and a yellow goby. Simply opinion. Theres the:

    "Damsel Option"
    Yellow Tail Damsel
    Blue Chromis
    Green Chromis
    Vanderbuilt Chromis
    Black and White Chromis
    (one each)

    "Clown/Chromis"
    Black & White Clownfish
    Yellow Tail Damsel
    Blue Chromis
    Vanderbuilt chromis
    (one each)

    "Standard"
    Black & White Clownfish
    Royal Gramma
    Yellow Goby
    Green Chromis
    (one each)

    So, which one?

I think damsels are just way to agressive and think they make it way to hard for any other tanks mates. I have a damsel in my 220 that I got for cycling and if I knew then what I know now I would have never put that fish in my tank. Its impossible to catch and is just a big mean bully! I personally think your clow will get bullied by them if that is the route you take but either way good luck with your choices.

Well i made sure there was only one "damsel" on the list and thats the yellow tail that no one has a bad word about. The others are chromis and in all reviews are very very pieceful and non-territorial. heres a quote for an example:
sounds like the opposite of aggressive :) I understand what your saying about damsels but these are all but one peaceful chromis

For some reason, Damsels just don't strike me as having quite as much personality as some of the other fish in the sea. For that reason, I'd recomend leaving them out to avoid conflicts with othergood citizens that you might want in the future.

OTOH, if you happen to be a damsel fan, it's great to have such bullet proof fish in your tank.

I went for option 3, I love damsels, but they can be little terrors and require a lot of planning to create an environment where they won't try to beat up on other fish.

I would go for 3-5 chromis, one won't be happy on its own.

    Chromis are very peaceful :)

p.s. IME Damsels have tons of personality, plus they can sing to each other with chirps and pops using their jaw bone.

well here was the new aquascape i made specifically for the damsels/chromis. LOTS and lots of caves and crevices and cracks ext. I personally (not to brag at all, just stating) love what im doing with my aquascapes. Of coarse the aquascape is a lot more dazzling in person because its very 3d but whatever, pictures suffice. what do you think

o and sorry for the blurryness, that should clear soon. I have a filter sock and i pointed the powerhead/return away from the sand (thanks to the suggestion of fellow 3reefers.

i had a yellow tail and it was verry aggresive and teritorial towards my clown but i think the problem is caused if the damsel is the first fish in the tank because it decides it owns the whole tank

I say go with number three. I have always heard that damsels are a pain. I went the clown and chromis route myself and am happy I did. My parents have a tank and they went with the yellowtail damsel and let me tell you that thing is a little terror. They only have that one fish because it's so aggressive. The clowns will love all of the caves as well.

Just B&W or percula ext? because i never had a B&W and only percula. All the clowns i owned never ever went near the rockwork let alone through it :-/ I really wish they did, i think its beautiful when the creatures swim in and out of the rockwork but ime they never went near it. If b&w's do, ill be so happy though :)
