I think we are all stressing a little extra because of the time of year. Feb. is always the pitts. We're tired of cold and are ready for spring and getting out of the house. But watching my tank is definitely a distraction that I really enjoy. Hang in everyone. Things can only get better. I'm trying to be optimistic, I lost my job 2 days ago!

Sorry, a little late on the reply. I'm a bank teller. Thought we were safe. After all someone has to take care of the customers. Apparently not! Anyway... Thanks for asking.

Good luck chrisg. I hope you find something soon.

We're practically neighbors. I used to bike ride the 30 miles round trip from Algonquin to Union almost every weekend. Would turn around at the rail museum.

Sharky....sorry to hear it. I purchased 3 fish online can get three fish and save a lot of money by buying online (have had great luck before) but two died. Got credit back on two dead, but 1 fish cost me more than intown.

My new yellow leather started disolving so I decideed to frag it today before it was gone. Everything else is doing fine.

    When it's bad, it's BAD ....but when it's good, It's GREAT !

I can't keep this thread and the http://www.3reef.com/forums/bucket/how-you-handling-recession-depression-58829.html thread straight.

I agree it can be stressful. I came home from work yesterday and my tank was close to overflowing. My Hofer gurgle buster standpipe had gotten clogged in my overflow with a big piece of algae. This is the second time. The reduced flow and bubbles coming out of the sump due to the low water level allowed bubbles to accumulate in the U tube in my overflow. I pulled it out and cleaned it and restarted the siphon with some airline tubing. As I was fixing it I was trying to figure out how I would handle giving my wife instructions if I was out of town. Of course nobody at home noticed it even though everyone was sitting right there. It would have been a disaster. I'll need to try a durso standpipe and lower my overflow box so that even if I pull the U tube out the tank won't overflow before the sump empties.

sharkyshark, how ya doing neighbor? What LFS do you visit?

pgreef....give your wife the basics. Our 72 gallon I could pretty much handle. Out new 120 is getting so far out there with all the cool gadgets that I'm lost. I know what to plug, unplug and what numbers to watch. Then I call husband and say .....help !

Get a phone number of a good lfs, or friend that has reef that knows your set up and can peek at it while your gone.

I do the decorating , testing of water, and purchasing (fun stuff) he takes care of the diy and electrical stuff. We're both happy.
