The only thing she couldn't handle would be restarting the siphon. First she'd have to find the airline tubing. Then to pull the U-tube out the light fixture needs to get moved. Then I also had to worry that since my sump emptied it refilled with top off water. So if I cut power would the sump would overflow, etc..., etc...

It's not too hard but when you're panicked because the tank is overflowing and she can't get a hold of me it could be a problem.

Overall we both love the tank but I'm the only one that knows how to run it.

Thats very frustrating pgreef. I have to say, I would be calling my husband right away if something happened with my system, even though I might know what to do. But thinking what-ifs could also make you crazy!! I'm excited to find a couple neighbors! Who knew anyone would know where Union, Il is.

I usually go to Corbins in Marengo. They are remodeling now so don't have alot of new stuff. Have you ever been there? I am also a huge fan of Birds and Beasts in Crystal Lake. How about you?

    Never been to Corbins.

Birds and Beasts is great. That's where I got all om my live rock. Great selection of LPS and softies. Kind of strange that they have such a huge selection of corals but very few SW fish.

Ever go to Exotic Aquatics on Randall Rd? Pretty nice selection of fish and coral. Bought a clam there recently. They seemed to reduce their selection over the last year or so though.

Tropiquatics in lombard. my dad used to sell the owner fish 25 yrs ago and we have a buddie in there that always has the tanks best interest in mind. in there 2x a week (get their shipments in on wednesdays)

also, kinda a hike, but sea escapes in st charles is pretty awesome (went there today, they have 2 cat sharks in and it was really tempting, but left with just a new shell for the herm)

beyond the reef in hoffman estates, its behind aquarium adventure (which is fun to look around in), golf and roselle. in there for at least an hour everytime, owner is super awesome (get their shipments in wednesday as well)

you got any that i dont?

Hi Sharky, sounds like some visits I'm going to have to make. Yes PG. I have been to exotic aquatics. Not sure if I like them very much. But they do have alot of fish. I did buy some live rock there and some snails. They don't seem very helpful. Corbins is relatively new and they have every kind of critter you can imagine. They are expanding the fish section. I can't wait.

I like beyond the reef also. I never even noticed the Aquarium Adventure store before. I'll have to check it out.

There is one guy in Exotic Aquatics that I think is helpful. The others, not so much. The place is real close to my house though. I like to drop in to look around. Love the smell of the salt water air. My wife thinks I'm nuts because I smell my tank.

There is also another place further south on Roselle Rd in Schaumburg, can't remember the name. I was in there once and I thought their tanks were a mess. Had a huge clam that blew me away. Must've been 2 feet across.
