Just wanted to get some ideas from all of you about what new fish you all think would be a good addition at this point to my tank. I have attached a picture of the tank so you can get a general idea. Current there is one yellow tang, one clown fish, one six line wrasse and one green chrome. About 4-5 months ago I tried to introduce a butterfly fish and another green chromis, it didn’t go so well. All the fish in the tank ganged up against the new fish, nipped at them etc. and they didn’t make it. I don’t have the ability right now to rearrange my rock, so I’m looking for a recommendation in light of the territorial fish that are currently in the tank. My current thoughts are maybe another wrasse (thought is that maybe it would be able to hold its own in the tank) or a sand sifter.

    Nice tank,

    Personally I like,

    Royal gramma
    Cardinals
    Fire fish
Gobies: yellow watch man, pink spotted, Randals

Or one of the more passive dwarf angels like Coral Beauty, Potters.

The tank is a 46 gallon bow front. Do you think it is ok to add more fish?

Yes I think you could add one more. What about a friend for your clownfish, a smaller male.

Thanks for including the image and the size that really helps.

    :)

The clown was paired when I originally got it around two years ago. It was the smaller one of the pair. The mate died then the one that I still have got huge. I'm a little afraid of pairing it, I have heard it can be hard. But I would love to have two, they are such a great color in the tank.

I think there is something to be said for lower stock levels. It definitely makes things easier. However, it's a personal preference. As long as your fish aren't fighting and your nutrient levels and nuisance algae is manageable, without having to resort to reduced feeding, then you can certainly add more. It dosn't sound like you have any bottom dwelling fish, so you could certainly add one, without any territorial issues. A gobby would be good. Also, some blennies would fit the bill.
