hey guys its been a while since i last posted, the tank is running great and all the inhabitents are looking good, i have had a few problems such as my lunar wrasse chewing on the back fins of my ray, and i traded my sleeper gobies for store credit, i didnt feel they were getting enough nutrition in my tank, so i have a relatively empty tank. its a 150g with a 4ft sump, and currentlyu houses 3 black clowns, a blue tang, a yellow tang blue spot ray and a YT damsel so i was just curious to see what you guys think i could add with out over stocking the tank.

the sleeper gobies would have been ok. they eat not only detirius in the sand. they will eventually eat pellets and nori. i have had mine for a full year and they are quite fat....

    firefish or cardinal banggii maybe?

Hmm, a blue spotted ray? You might have a lot of troubles with that one and smaller fish.

Why do you have a blue spot ray? That's not a tank for a ray. They get 3 feet in diameter. They need a huge amount of floor space.

It seems that people buy blue spotted rays because they are pretty and interesting. They do get big, and with that fish in only a 150g, it is already overstocked, not to mention the other issues with owning a ray.

in what i read the species i brought only gets to 12 inches in diameter, i know there is another type available, but i did about 6 months research before i purchased the ray and i built the tank with her in mind.

i read your last thread when you got this ray tank. but i still feel its too small for the ray. not enough square footage in my opinion. the width of the tank being 2 feet and the max growth you say is 12 in. or 1 foot. it just doesnt give the ray a whole lot of space to turn around. also given that you have 100 lbs of live rock in the DT takes some of the space away from it.

i wouldnt add more fish. i have a feeling your bioload is close to maxing out.

there is roughly 8 square feet of just surface area, as it is now the ray is about 140mm in diameter, or around the 5 inch mark, i do intend on building an inwalll tank in the not to distant future but until then the 5 footer is home, as for the puffer i have heard people say they will chew on the eyes of the ray while its under the sand
