okay so as above mentioned my 110 gal tank is leaking. the leak appears to be coming from the bottom middle seam. The tank is glass and luckly right now it is leaking back into my sump tank below...

I have no idea what to do, I am afraid of waking up and seeing a 100 gals of water on my living room floor.

what do I do? have any of you had this problem and can it be fixed while still running?

    Thank You!!

That trim piece is just for support, and probably not a seam. I would almost bet that your leak is elsewhere and the water is travelling along your trim. If this were happening to me, I would get some storage containers to put live rock and any livestock into. You will have to drain the tank to properly repair it. It's almost easier to go and buy a new/used tank.

I second his opinion. Try to for sure find out where the leak is coming from ASAP. Then if it is substantial and not on the top of the aquarium where you could just lower the water level, if not possible i would transfer live rock/livestock to another tank or containers. If your tank is truly leaking the only thing u can do to fix it is tear it down anyways. So you might as well save your livestock while u can before you have 100 gallons everywhere. Just for sure figure out wher ehte leak is coming from and if its just a silicone problem or cracked glass.

i'd imagine it would be a good idea to take out any water you feel it can live comffortably without so theres less pressure on wherever the leak is if you arent going to put things in buckets straight away.

i started filling a tank couple weeks ago and was fine two thirds full over night, added more water and some rock the next day and started leaking :/
raced out to buy some rubbish bins to hold the water while i swapped the tank for a newer one (which i luckly had lying around!)
maybe a rock knocked the glass a little or something but was surprised it started leaking just after adding an extra 10 gal.

either way i'd still agree with getting everything into contains while you fix/replace your tank.

if it is on the bottom or any weight bearing parts I replace the tank, otherwise +1 to drain and fix like mentioned above.
