Looking like a fresh setup. I remember when my tank was that clean lol. Would like to offer you some friendly advice though. I would make sure theres room to get your hand inbetween the rock and glass on the front display and both sides. Other words you will have problems removing algea and coraline from the glass once it starts to spread. Another thing, It appears that all your rock is just laying on the sand. I would stack some of it up and make little grottoes, give the aqua scape a cleaner look.
Just my 2 cents. You got a great start going on there!!!! What do you plan on keeping?

I know exactly what your saying about the algae thing and the space between the rocks and the part were you want to keep as much sand exposed as possible but this dry rock came in HUGE pieces and truthfully, i want it the other way but the pieces are so big that thats pretty much impossible. Any suggestions?

Well you could save a couple of the bigger pieces and tap the other ones a couple times with a hammer and chisel. If you hit it in the center it should brek off fairly even

ya i could do that but do you really think its worth it if i like my setup now? like do you think its important to clear that back glass up? like i dont want to just destroy my rock and then regret it. It could look but but i might not want to risk it, you know?

    Thanks for your input,
    Ryan

If you like your setup i would do nothing to it. I really like my setup and no one but me is gonne decide how i want it aqua scapped. I dont remove coraline from my back glass. Its covered. I was just making a suggestion as to pushing it farther back from the display, it will make the front glass much easier to clean

    Just base rock?
    Just lava rock?
    Just concrete rock?
Or is it in fact dead coral?

I know what your saying. I have a mag float and i use it all the time and i have at least 5 inches from the front of the glass to the beginning of the rock. Thanks for your help on this issue.
