Well im on the line of doing thus or not and wanted to get ideas maybe for when I upgrade from my 90. Anyways right now my tank is doing awesome and couldn't be happier. As it is the livestock is great but it feels a lil dull.

    My stock as of now
    1 blue eye kole tang
    1 pink streak wrasse
    2 swissguard basslets
yasha goby and tiger pistol pair
    1 banggai cardnial
    1 yellow clown goby
1 ruby red scooter blenny (flat worm terminator)
    trio of chromises

All these fish have been in here for a while and are doing fine. Surprisingly the chromises havent killed each other off and I was kinda half way expecting thst to happen. Here my question now, if I got rid of the chromises, what would be a good substitute. I want more color but the same activity And same feeding response I get out of them. I have tons of rock work snd hiding spots. I can feed twice a day because I schooled my future wife how to feed thr tank properly. Ideas?

If you can feed more than once a day, anthias. I love them. I try to do 3 feedings a day. They are top feeders so I can put very small amounts in and they get taken care of. I'm mostly sps and if the feedings are done right you should have little impact on nutrients.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I am just going to throw this out there. Maybe what you actually need is another tank.

It sounds like your tank is in balance, why mess with perfection. Anthias are fantastic fish but they really need to be feed 3 times a day/frequently.

Perhaps you're just bored with the current status because you already have a nice collection of fish.

To answer your question though, I love Anthias, Fire fish, and the smaller type of grouping Cardinals. Remember though a passive fish type might not be able to fit in with your other established fish.

I tend to agree with Coraline, you will not be getting a "school" of fish as that just won't happen in the size tanks we have. I do not have any experience with anthias, but it sounds like everything is doing well. You could add some yellow tail/blue damsels in groups, but they can get aggressive.

I wasnt planning on adding more. My thoughts were to take the chromises out and replace them with another trio of fish thst dont max out over 3"s. I wont be able to get the bigger tank I want till another 2 years or so Which I plan on getting something 180+. In the mean time I wanted to give my tank a lil more lively hood and color due to most of my fish are pretty cryptic except mg tang, the cardinal And chromises. I my be just lucky to have the trio not killing each other but like I said just want something different. I know for thr fact that j wont be getting ths "school" everyone wants in a 90 so I just wanna settle with what I can get.

Edit: I might just end up keeping them but we always want our tanks to looke their best and tinker with them. Just really just thinking it over and getting whst people might have to say about it.

    This ^^^

Fish have their own personality, and while the others may be ok with the chromis, one might not take kindly to newcomers. I'd suggest leaving well enough alone. JM2C

I have a friend who has been trying to get a single chromis out of his tank for over 6 months. He finally caught him by fishing him out with a hook and line.

I've had a personal talk with everyone of my inhabitants and if any of them ever show aggression that I'll fish em out the exact same way.
