dude you can have multiple wrasses in a tank. not really the same like a school, unless they are a mated pair, but all different ones.

and firefish IMO don't really swim all that much.

Blue reef chromis could be an option. Not the normal blue-green chromis. Check liveaquaria to see what im talking about. They can be kept singly or in groups, and from what I've read if you add 3 or more at the same time they wont pick the population down. I have one (along with other fish of course) in my 29 and very active & peaceful fish. Should I ever do another tank several would be on the potential stocking list.

If it were me, I'd consider what you have more than enough bio-load for a 55 reef. Adding more fish isn't going to help anything.

You're close to your fish limit. Looking to add a school of fish isn't the best direction. You would be better off with a small, active fish.

your really close to your fish limit, i think the only way you could have a school of fish is if you got rid of a couple of your larger fish. as for tangs its really a touchy subject, its possible to keep one tang in a 55 gallon tank but most suggest a 75 gallon minimum for a yellow tang. alot of tangs the min. size tank is alot larger.

i would say your best bet is chromises but your tank would be pretty overstocked if you had a school of 5-6. like i said your best bet if youw ant a school is to remove a few fish. the foxface will limit you a ton. a 55 gallon is a bit of a tight fit for that little fella.
