I have a blue damsel and tried the bottle trap but she is way to fast for that. I might try the trap in the pic with a drop down door I guess? She is a mean one.

I had a couple of Blue Damsels that I added when my 75 gallon was justed getting started. I tried everything and they would not go near the traps. My local fish store gave me numerous ones to try...even had 3 people that each had a net...lol. They would literally wait till the food floated out of the traps. I posted on 3reef and was basically told that I might have to disassemble part of my tank...I ended up taking most of the stuff out to get those 2 fish, something I hated to do but I tried to get them for a month. If I had to get a fish out now I think I would just move stuff. Good luck and I hope there is another way.

Blue Damsels are what I caught with the pop bottle in less than a day, that sucks. It was a pain to have to watch it all day long though.

I was going to post this before, but I figured the bottle would have worked.

When I setup my first saltwater fish only tank (many years ago).. I had nothing in the tank but dead coral skeletons (deco wise). I had a good amount of birds nest skeleton in the tank. All of the damsels seemed to wedge themselves in the bird nest pieces at night. I remember a few times pulling a few pieces out- and actually hearing a bunch of fish flapping around in the coral.

It's worth a shot... honestly. Catching damsels is one of the most doomed projects in this damn hobby.

    Edit:
Taking the tank apart isn't a bad idea honestly.... as much as I hate to say it.

That is something that I did not try. I sat there for long periods and would have tried anything at the time...I stayed clear of Blue tangs because people told me that I would eventually have to take them out because I ony have 75 gallon tank...lol.
