i have 2 clownfish that are both not even an inch yet, 2 chromis about 1.5" and a damsel thats prbly 2".
my friend says that it matters how big the fish are so i put the inches.
is this too many fish for a 30 gallon tank?
and since the clownfish and chromis will be growing a lot more will i have to take out some fish later on when they get bigger??

if you do add more fish be sure to take into account how big the fish get when there grown.

also i am assuming you have a protein skimmer. if you dont i would stop adding now probably to keep maitenence easy

Probably too much. At least if you measure them as grown - which they'll be soon enough.

    2 clownfish together 6 inches
    2 chromi together 6 inches
and another misc damsel of 3 inches

    That's 15 inches of fish.

I have 12 inches of fish in my 55 and am looking at getting one more 3 inch fish grown.

I would say around 9 inches of grown fish is roughly your target. Like mentioned, if you have great filtration (loads of LR, big skimmer, etc.) you could getaway with more... of these fish as an example.

Me, I would take one back and be set. Also those blue/green chromi's tend to do better in odd numbers, so I'd vote taking one of those back.

Also, I'm assuming you have an established tank and you didn't put all of these in at once or close together...

if this is a new setup or anything, let us know.
