Dude nice fish! I know that had to be fun! Those small mouths are beautiful.

Definitely tasty. I like a good walleye every now and then, but there's no sense in taking a 20 year old pike for one meal. The whole trip was C&R. (Had I hung a 30 pounder however..it would have been a different story..and he would be living on my wall ;) )

Yeah they were really pretty out of that lake. Very dark, clear water.

Yeah, it's a whole different game up there. I sure miss living close to saltwater..I was never able to get a tarpon..tried multiple times but never succeeded. Having a bull red pulling drag gets my heart pumping plenty fast though!

    Great fishing irr001

Pike are common in UK waters and a great sporting fish - did any of them jump and try to shake the hooks ?

I've seen pictures of some big ones caught over there. Their dance across the top of the water trying to throw the hooks is pretty impressive! I also like it when they turn into dump trucks and just sink to the bottom.

Yep - in some of the trout lakes that allow pike fishing through the closed season for Trout there are some monsters - 20 - 25kg and larger
I have only had Jacks to low doubles, mostly dead baiting with Carp leger gear during winter when the carp are dormant
