fishless nitro cycle question(s)

    +1 on the phosphates, how did you test for it? Seems very high....

    just a comment....are you planning on only keeping fish in your set up? With a sump, you don't need bioballs or ceramics and they can make it difficult to keep nitrates low. If you're only keeping fish, it shouldn't be a problem but if you're thinking about corals, you'll want to take them off-line IMO.

    Things get worse - my excited neighbor shows up with a bag of 2 baby clowns! (for now I have them in the 8gallon test tank -freshwater converted)

    Testing it with Sera kit (i've heard its not as good as other kits out there) will take some tank water to LFS to be tested after the water change.

    @oldfishkeeper - Planning to keep corals.
    Since I had the bioballs (for free!) i threw them in - Planning to change that to LR rubble soon.

    @Corailline - after the waterchange, if the Phosphates are higher, would you suggest I use PhosGuard in the sump at this stage?
