For what its worth, Spectrapure makes a dual reactor with independent flow control. I have one and love it.

    Dual Chamber Media Reactor

I am running carbon in both right now because I am using pellets instead of GFO. But the ability to have a GFO reactor on standby is what made me go with this unit.

It could be from dying snails too. For a while I had WWIII between snails and hermits, even with plenty of empties. :)

Yup, fuge running with reverse light and chaeto and about 20% flow.

I'm thinking of putting a few hermits in the fuge to keep things tidier than they are, but not too tidy. ;)

I went with singles for each because I have read dual reactors can clog and make it a challenge to keep consistent flow rate through reactor. I'll see if that pans out.

    Thanks for the ideas guys.

I'm out of town for the next week or so, but the Full Tank Shot thread has one that is taken two weeks ago. :)

I'm with Todd Marty! Sounds like you're doing all of the right things to help bring it under control.

Congrats to you neubie on getting your tank back in shape and glad you are back in the groove too :)

Running - awesome news! GHA just fading away - sweet!

You want the GFO to "boil" on the surface in the reactor. The carbon, however, you do NOT want tumbling; just enough flow to circulate water through it. Letting the carbon tumble will grind it up, and put carbon fines in your water. You don't want that. ;)
