I have all the fish I want in my tank. I am think about adding a flame angel. I was talking to a guy at the LFS and he said that a flame angel will harm my blue hippo tang. Is this correct? From everything I have read if I put it in last which I am doing it will most likely not be aggressive to other tank mates.

Depending on the size ratio, I'd say the tang could hold his own.

My tang is about 2". So if I undersand correctly if the flame angel is the same size or smaller I should be ok.

My opinion would be absolutely. You may have small problems with fish of similar color/shape. Is this a fowlr tank?

well i always feel that blue tangs are kinda like big dumb fish that just like to be happy and friendly, and any kind of aggressive ness from other fish really take away from the tang, cause when i had my blue tang in the tank with other peiceful fish eh was always swimming around really fast and picked shells up and tossed them around. and then when i added the yellow tang, he stopped doing that, the yellow tang does not harrasse (SP?) him 24/7 but he will sometimes and it has really hindered his livelyness (SP?)

your probabley not going to have an issue like attacking, but just like the yellow tang there might be that lost spark, let us know how it goes!!!, i always think reefing is about taking risks any ways.

If they are the same size there night be some aggression. If the tang is bigger he should be all right. Also keep in mind that flame angels are some of the worst when it comes to pygmy angels nipping at corals. (Not all flames do this, but they have a higher ratio of the individuals that do.) If the one at your LFS is in a coral tank observe him for a while to see if he nips at anything. If he's just in a fish tank then it's a risk you need to decide if you want to take.

I have a hippo and a flame. The flame was added after the tang wand is smaller in size. The only thing I have ever seen is the hippo chasing away the flame when it sometimes comes near it, not all the time thought usually the get along great.
