I've seen it done before in a 75, but I'm not sure if I should try. I like them both but I'm not sure if it's worth the risk.

Also, as for a flame angel. What are the ones that survie in the home aquarium? Hawaiian or one of the others?

Or is the Coral beauty more likely to survie?

Tank is 75 gallons with a 30 gallon sump, I only have 1 clownfish in the DT.

theres always a risk having two angels together in the same tank, smaller the tank, the more the risk, that said...

I've had a flame angel and a bicolor angel in my tank together the trick is to get them at the same time, QT them together and put them in the tank together, if you can try to get the coral beauty slightly larger than the flame angel this is what I did with my two angels and they lived together in harmony for a couple of months unfortunately for some reason my bicolor decided to stop eating and passed away, I didn't learn until later that the bicolor is one of the harder angels to keep (thats what I get for not researching)

other than that they seemed fine together, I would love to have a second angel but I know my flame would not like the competition lol maybe some day I can have two together again.

    btw I have a 75 ;)

had the same question not long ago.

and i had both... long story short i lost my flame, now this was back when i was a *noob*(and i still am) and my lack of knowledge back then cost it its life. i believe the main mistake i did back then was feeding. as i only feed flakes and foods you could buy at your LFS (took me about 3 months to have the epiphany btw...)

from then i decided to make my own fish food and i assure you i will NEVER go back. costs me about 15bucks and i have a food stock for at least 2 months in the freezer. and big advantage i know what they are eating.

but back to you the flame and beauty, after my upgrade i wanted another dwarf angel but seeing my negative experience with the flame i decided to go for the beauty. and honestly im glad i did, she really is a beauty and alot hardier. she will nip at sponges but if she eventually recognizes food she wont care much for them.

iv thought about adding a flame with the beauty as i really liked that fish. but some thing told me it would not be a good idea, the fish in my eyes seem to similar and thats bound to be trouble.

in aquaria however you never really know, each system is different and each system has its own balance.

i guess give a little more detail, what are your current fish? and what do you feed?

I actually had a flame, coral beauty, and bicolor dwarf angels together in a standard 55g with no problems. It may help to start with small juvies, and as already mentioned, introduce them together.

Dwarf angels require a diet of marine sponge and algae or seaweed along with a variety of meaty fares for a long healthy life.

Thank you, I'll do a ton of research before I get one or two. And we love getting small fish to watch them grow.

I've got 3 dwarf angels- they all get along fine.

Just tonight I was given a 3rd Clown, an huge Maroon clown. May have to re-home him as he's fighting for my RBTA with my other black clown. Only the first night, anyways....

    Salty,

IMHO, you already have too many fish in your 75.

    Good luck
