My flame angel has had this spot for several weeks now and it's not going away. He is still very active and having no problems eating.

Is it some sort of bacteria or infection or could it be an abrasion?

    any info will help!

It's not flush with his face like ich would be, It actually resembles a booger lol
However I am sure that it is not!

It's hard to say for sure, but that looks like Lymphocystus (sp?) and if that's what it is, it's like a cold and will go away on its own.

Either that or a small wound would be my guess.

I had a swallowtail angel with a similar spot. It was diagnosed at the LFS as lymphocystis as had been suggested. My fish was perfectly fine, it did have another spot develop in the time it took to go away completely. All was well... hope it works out the same for you.
